With a façade bearing the inscription “To the great men, the grateful homeland”, this grandiose building is the final resting place of the nation’s heroes.

It is also home to physicist Léon Foucault’s pendulum experiment, which proved the earth’s rotation in 1851. You can still see this pendulum today.
